the good news is those cables circulate...buy it for a £5 and then sell it for same price you bought it at... at the time I needed one 2007 they were £15 on ebay, but I sold it for £15 too...

It saves the 15 day wait for one from Microsoft - thats if they are even handing them out for free still...
